Let’s Interpret offers training and peer support for bilingual and multilingual women living in Cardiff who are interested in making the most of their linguistic skills and in becoming professional interpreters.
Once they have successfully completed the introductory level 3 interpretation course, our members can benefit from:
- further accredited interpretation courses,
- continuous professional development training,
- guidance on self-employment,
- a coordinated network of peer support, and
- work experience opportunities with local organisations.
We work in partnership with local organisations (employment services, services that work with BAME women, services that work with refugees and asylum seekers) who refer bilingual and multilingual women to Let’s Interpret, so that they can benefit from the courses and support that we offer.
Our training programmes are built around our members need to balance their learning and professional development with their other life commitments. For example, the majority of our training is delivered online, during nursery/school hours.
